Professional Standards

GGAT Projects are committed to the development and maintenance of high professional archaeological practice and standards in the United Kingdom. This is reflected by its support for the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists both as a Registered Organisation (No.15) and with staff supporting the work of the Institute. Our staff were instrumental in the working party for Standards in British Archaeology (SIBA), which produced the national professional standards for the various types of archaeological work undertaking in the United Kingdom (desk-based assessments, field evaluations, excavations, watching briefs, standing building recording). As part of an organisation registered with the Chartered Institute all our staff irrespective of personal adherence have to abide by the CIfA Codes of Conduct and working standards.
