East Merthyr Reclamation Scheme Phase III
Summary
As part of the mitigatory strategy for the Phase III development, the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust (Projects Division) was commissioned by Miller Argent to carry out a field survey of the known archeological interests which would be directly affected.
The survey work was undertaken using a combination of Total Station survey, photography, the recording of profiles and machine excavation. A total of twenty nine previously identified sites were recorded, including twenty two leats, five ponds and three pit sites. In addition, recording was undertaken on a further eleven sites, which had not been previously identified. This report presents the results of the field survey.
