GGAT Projects
GGAT Projects are an experienced team which has carried out more than 1400 archaeological projects and are the largest providers of archaeological services in the Principality, enjoying a wide client base, with a proven track record for delivering quality projects and advice to recognised professional standards.
Our particular focus of operations is in Southeast Wales where we bring long-experience and detailed knowledge of the area. We also undertake works throughout the Principality and in England, particularly in the South West and West Midlands. Where we can bring particular expertise we will work further afield.
Our awareness of the role of archaeology in the planning process has led to an insistence on effective project management, achieved by quality assurance at all stages. As a result, deadlines are met whilst still ensuring that the fieldwork and reporting meet professional standards.
General enquiries can be emailed to projects@ggat.org.uk.
In the recent past particular fieldwork projects of note have included, the excavation of medieval and post-medieval remains ahead of major redevelopment in Swansea, excavation of Roman remains at Bulmore, Newport ahead of the re-development of the championship course at the Celtic Manor Resort (where Ryder Cup 2010 will be played), excavations of Roman and medieval remains in advance of the construction of a new interpretation centre at Cardiff Castle, and excavations of late Bronze Age sites in the Avon Levels.
