Heritage Management

The Heritage Management section is the first point of contact for people or groups looking for advice on historic monuments in Glamorgan and Gwent, either because they have found something they think is of importance and want an expert opinion, or because they would like to restore or promote a monument in their community.

This also applies to metal detector and other portable finds, which we look at under the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

We provide information and management advice on land coming into agri-environmental or woodland grant schemes, such as Tir Gofal and Better Woodlands for Wales, and we can also provide advice to our unitary authorities, AONBs and National Park staff on the best way to manage and promote monuments in their areas.
