Do you have a back or front garden? Want to learn more about the history beneath your feet?

Then we need YOU to be part of our Online Back Garden Excavation!

We'd like you to dig a small 1 metre square archaeological test pit, recording what you discover and sharing your findings with archaeologists from GGAT and the wider community.

Don't worry if you've never done anything like this before, below you can find handy 'How to' guides and videos to take you through every step.

All you need to do to take part is to download, fill in, and return the consent form below and read the Safety Guidance document. Then you're off!
