County and District Agricultural Shows

Engaging the interest of the farming community is increasingly important for the historic environment. Many archaeological sites and monuments are on farmland and, with farm subsidies now being aimed more at conservation than food production, farmers are being asked to do more to look after the sites on their land. The Trust has a programme of visiting as many different agricultural shows as possible over the next few years in order to spread the message that the historic environment matters.

Contact us at curatorial@ggat.org.uk if you would like us to put your local agricultural show in our programme
